What we make

Not a database of every location. One trip at a time, worked out until it holds together: which train, which ticket, which taxi to book, which ryokan still lets you catch the morning departure, and what to do if you miss a connection. Each trip has a page for deciding and one page per way of travelling. The practical guides — trains, rental cars, lodging, food and luggage — sit outside the trips so that every length can share them.

The first trip is Yuru Camp△ (Laid-Back Camp) in Yamanashi, from Shinjuku, in a two-day and a three-day version. More will follow only when we can maintain them.

What we do not do

AnimeTrail does not book, arrange or sell travel. Booking links go to the operator or property itself, and you book directly with them. Drafts may be put together with automated tools, but nothing is published until a person has checked it against the sources.

How facts are verified

Two layers. Fares, timetables, IC card areas and ticket rules are checked against the official pages of the railway, bus company, municipality or facility. For opening hours and closed days — especially at small restaurants, which often have no site of their own — what matters is who keeps the listing and how recent it is: the operator’s own information first, then the municipality or tourism association, then a current listing the place is kept on, cross-checked against a second one. Every source we used is linked at the foot of the page, with the date we checked it. Connections, transfer times, walking routes and the exact spots that match the anime are being confirmed on the ground; where that has not happened yet, the page says so.

Variable information is re-checked before publishing, three months after, and every six months after that. Time-limited information is removed at the first update after it ends.

How to read “Not yet confirmed”

Some things only a phone call, a real booking or a site visit can settle: a taxi fare, whether a campground takes an overseas card, what a small station has. We do not state those as fact. Where we checked but could not establish something, we say so and mark it, with what you should ask when you book. When we do establish it, the mark disappears.

Photos and the series

Photographs are our own, except for a small number of licensed images that are credited where they appear. Our policy is not to use screenshots, official artwork or character images. We do not photograph other campers, private property or residents, and we ask before photographing inside shops.

Yuru Camp△ is the work of its authors and rights holders. AnimeTrail is not affiliated with them.

Affiliate disclosure

As of September 2026, AnimeTrail carries no affiliate links and earns nothing when you book. If that changes, the affected links will be labelled and this page updated. Our rule for any future partner is simple: a property or service appears only if it fits the itinerary, regardless of what it pays.
