Why it matters for anime fans
Tenryu-Futamata Station is one of the models for the Third Village in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. From 18 July 2026 to 28 February 2027 its station sign reads “Third Village”, and the depot beside it, where the film’s scenes are set, is open on guided tours.
The event spreads the rest across the city, so this is less a day out than a reason to spend a night in Hamamatsu.
What you can see and do
The city centre
The Lance of Longinus stands at the north exit of Hamamatsu Station, and stamps, collab food and limited goods are close together in the centre. It is the natural place to start after you arrive by shinkansen.
Tenryu-Futamata, the Third Village model
The station sign, the wooden Unit-01 and the depot where the film is set. The depot is not open to wander: you see it on a tour.
| Tour | When | Price | Booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turntable and railway museum | Weekdays 13:50-14:30; weekends and holidays also 10:50-11:30 | Adults ¥600, children ¥300 | Not needed, first 120 people |
| Train wash and turntable ride | Weekends and holidays, 11:25-12:15 | ¥900 | Needed, 30 places |
| Night tour | See the railway’s page for dates | ¥2,000 | Needed, 30 places |
Lake Hamana
More stamps, collab spots and official goods by the lake. The rally’s keyring needs a stamp in all three colours, so you cannot finish it in one area.
Tickets, booking and limited items
- The stamp rally and the monuments need no booking.
- Two of the Third Village depot tours need booking in advance; the regular tour does not.
- The collab gifts and goods are limited and may run out before the event ends.
- Two one-day event passes, ¥1,600 each: an Entetsu bus pass, and a pass for the Enshu Railway and the Tenryu Hamanako Railway together. The second covers the trip to Tenryu-Futamata.
