Which part of Hakone
On the 2-day trip, Day 1 ends in Sengokuhara and Day 2 starts with the 9:30 pirate ship from Togendai. Stay between the two, and you never have to double back.

The five hotels on the route
All five were listed on Booking.com, Trip.com and Klook when we checked on 26 September 2026. A listing does not mean there is a room on your dates, and prices and cancellation terms change with the date and the plan, so check them on the booking screen.
All five take part in Hakone’s luggage service, which carries bags between Hakone-Yumoto Station and the hotel for ¥1,500 a bag each way. How the luggage service works

After Sengokuhara, take the route T bus towards Togendai to Minami-onsenso, about 5 min on foot from the hotel. Call the hotel when you arrive and it will pick you up (9:00-21:00, in the order people call). Ubako ropeway station is 3 min away, but the ropeway stops at 17:00 (16:15 in December and January), so do not count on it at the end of Day 1.
Buffet. Dinner 17:30-21:00 in 90-minute sittings, last entry 20:00. Breakfast 7:00-9:30.

There is no separate allergy menu, and the hotel says it cannot prevent cross-contact at the buffet. You can bring your own food if you tell them in advance.
Susukinohara Ichinoyu

1 min on foot from the Daigatake bus stop.
Dinner at 17:45 or 18:45, and you need to check in by 18:00. Breakfast in three sittings between 7:40 and 8:30.

Vegetarian meals if you ask when you book. The ryokan lists English-speaking staff and free Wi-Fi. For the 9:30 boat, take the first breakfast sitting and ask the ryokan the best way to Togendai.

Ask the breakfast time when you book, for the 9:30 boat. For allergies, vegetarian or vegan meals, contact the ryokan in advance. There are two private baths you can hire.

The nearest bus stop is Sengoku-kogen, about 10 min on foot. The hotel will pick you up if you call when you arrive.

Allergy meals cover only eight allergens (shrimp, crab, wheat, buckwheat, egg, milk, peanuts and walnuts) and must be chosen in advance. The hot-spring baths are not open to guests with tattoos. Ask how to reach Togendai for the 9:30 boat, and check payment options when you book.
Book dinner and breakfast
Day 1 ends around 17:00, when you check in. Going back out for dinner means another bus on the mountain roads, so book a plan with dinner and breakfast. On Day 2, the 9:30 boat means an early breakfast.
Other parts of Hakone
If the hotel matters more than an easy route, these are well-known places in Gora, Kowakudani and Miyanoshita. Each adds a ride back in the evening and out again the next morning.
- Toki no Yu Setsugetsuka, Gora
About 1 min on foot from Gora Station, so it is easy to find. Many rooms have a private open-air bath with heated water; the shared baths use hot-spring water.
- Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu, Kowakudani
Every room has its own open-air hot-spring bath. A stay to enjoy for its own sake, well away from Sengokuhara and Togendai.
- Fujiya Hotel, Miyanoshita
A classic hotel that opened in 1878, within walking distance of Miyanoshita Station. The building and the dining are part of the stay.
