Event details
The Minobu Yuru Camp△ festival runs over two days. This page is about Day 1 at the school; the Day 2 talk show in central Minobu is an extra you can add.
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Schoolyard camping | 1 night from 10:00 on 27 Nov, ¥4,000 (50 places). 2 nights from 10:00 on 27 Nov to 11:00 on 29 Nov, ¥6,000 (30 places). Campsite entry only, ¥1,000. |
| School tour | 28 Nov, 10:30-12:00 or 13:30-15:00. ¥550. Under-18s go free with a parent or guardian, without the souvenir. |
| Venue | Former Shimobe Elementary and Junior High School, 1495 Tokiwa, Minobu |
| Day 2 (29 Nov) | Cast talk show at the Minobu Town Cultural Hall, with food and goods stalls |
| Weather | The camp goes ahead in light rain. If a storm is forecast, the organisers decide by 12:00 the day before. The school tour runs whatever the weather. |
Why it matters for anime fans
On an ordinary visit, the school grounds are closed and you see Motosu High School from the road. This weekend you can pitch a tent in the schoolyard and walk through the building itself.
Kai-Tokiwa Station, the slope up to the gate and Shonin-dori in front of Minobu Station are all on the same stretch of the Minobu Line, so the event fits into a Yuru Camp△ trip rather than replacing it.
What you can see and do
- A night in the schoolyard. Bring your own tent and gear. Open fires are not allowed.
- Inside the school. Two guided sessions on 28 November, each 90 minutes.
- Day 2 in Minobu. A talk show with four of the series cast, food stalls with a stamp card, goods stalls and greetings from a costumed Rin.

Getting there
From Tokyo, take the limited express from Shinjuku to Kofu, then the JR Minobu Line south. For tickets and the limited express, see our Trains & Tickets guide. Check train times for your date on the JR website: trains on the Minobu Line are few.
| Day | Venue | How to get there |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | The school, Kai-Tokiwa | Kai-Tokiwa Station on the Minobu Line. Only local trains stop here, not the limited express. |
| Day 2 | Minobu Town Cultural Hall | From Minobu Station, the bus towards Minobu-san to Minobu Shisho Iriguchi (about 7 min, ¥200), or a taxi (about 10 min, around ¥1,000) |
Where to stay
If you are going both days, stay one night at Shimobe-Onsen, one stop from Kai-Tokiwa. Day 1 is a single stop away and Day 2 is further down the same line.
